False labor scare!

On March 7th, I was confined in the Hospital for a day and a half cause I started feeling terrible cramps which were very similar to period pain that I would get whenever it was that time of the month for me. They started around 12:30am. Hubby was at work and I did manage to wait for him to get back which wasn’t till 3am. I wasn’t sure if it was the start of my labor but by 3:50am he noticed I was going Pale so he called for the ambulance. We arrived at the hospital at 4:15am and was sent to A&E for registration. After that I was given a wheelchair and they took me to the Delivery Suite to check my weight, listen to the baby’s heartbeat, felt around my tummy for the baby’s position and they gave me a vaginal examination which I HATED cause they were so agressive with it, I felt like I was being RAPED seriously. And they did it TWICE cause after the first nurse checked me another one came in and did it again thinking I hadn’t been examined yet. I was in pain but I wasn’t dilated nor effaced yet but they wanted to keep me in for the night so they could monitor me. Because it was a government hospital, Hubby wasn’t allowed to stay so he had to go home and come back the next day. I was sent to the Antenatal ward at around 5am and they attached a fetal monitor belt around me saying it was also to track my contractions and that I should push the button everytime I felt the baby move or kick. I was exausted at that time but I layed around and did as told. When I was about to fall asleep, a nurse came in and told me she needed to take some of my blood and this was around 5:30am. I TRIED to get some rest after that but then again at around6:17am someone came and removed the fetal monitor and asked me how my contractions are and I said they still come and go like every 15-20minutes. Another hour rolled by and suddenly all the lights came on inside the ward signaling“Breakfast”. Sounded good ehh? I WISH! They served us Congee that had absolutely no taste whatsoever and a steamed veggie bun. I know I shouldn’t complain cause hospital food will always be bad (kinda like plane food!). If I had a choice, I wouldn’t even eat it but I knew my little one was hungry so I just kept swallowing. After breakfast, most of the other preggo moms started to get up and walk around the ward talking to one another but I really wanted to sleep so I did and didn’t wake up till noon when they started serving us Lunch. By then, I was feeling pretty good. My side was sore cause I was asleep in the same position for a couple of hours but otherwise I was okay. I was still having contractions (Braxton-Hicks) but the pain that I had experienced earlier seemed to be gone. They gave me an ultrasound in the afternoon to determined the baby’s size. They kept telling me it’s gonna be a big one. Then for the rest of the day it’s the same thing checking my blood pressure, fetal monitoring, is the baby moving ok? are you leaking? any bleeding? let us know when you are having regular contractions .. by regular they mean like contractions that were 5 minutes apart and that lasted up to a minute .. But I was all good. I wasn’t leaking/bleeding/in pain. I was soooo happy to see my husband during visiting hours and I seriously wanted to sneak away and go home with him cause I was so bored and also upset that my labor wasn’t progressing. I had to stay and wait for the blood test results though and so I stayed another night and was allowed to go home at noon the next day. I was given some Materna tablets to take so that I could “make more blood before delivery” cause my blood level was a little low.

Hospital Food! Looks Good? Trust me, it wasn't >_<

Hubby picked me up and we went to eat some Chinese food and I was knocked out when we got home. I was only gone for like a day and a half but I missed my bed so much and all my comfy pillows and I was just so thankful to sleep without having anyone wake me up every hour poking me all over. I was asleep for I think 8 hours straight which is a first in months cause I’m ALWAYS getting up to rush to the bathroom but that time I only got up to pee once. So yeah, it was FALSE LABOR *Boooo!* but I do have an Antenatal checkup tomorrow and last week when I was there they had told me that if I haven’t given birth this week they would most likely be scheduling my induction date. So good luck to me and I know we are all hoping that this pregnancy will be over soon cause it’s seriously taking FOREVER!!!!
